Ellen Page will make her directorial debut with a comedic high school drama titled Miss Stevens.
Anna Faris is attached to star as the title character, a teacher whose life is in disarray who ends up chaperoning a group of high schoolers on a weekend trip to a state drama competition. While on the trip, she rediscovers her own self-worth via the humanity of her students.
Julia Hart wrote the script.
Should be interesting to see.

THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY.
Be your own hero
I think it is premature to do this. I mean she is young for this, she needs more experiment. She should act at these stages of his life. And at the same time, she will gain some experience and we'll see better movies directed by her including her first directorial debut.
I don't think so. She's 26 with 15 years of experience. What more can you expect? Sure, she has no experience as a director but actors usually make good directors (directressesErchamion wrote:I think it is premature to do this. Beware! Reading jeopardizes stupidity!

Agreed, also you'll have to start somewhere...
I've had a celebrity crush on Natalie Portman for as long as I can remember.
Nice to meet you!
Nice to meet you!

I didin't mean not only experience for movie endustry but also for life. I mean, she is 27, she is young. These ages are better when she acts, after 40 she can direct.
Also, most of good directors are old enough. So, they can mix life and movie in a good way.
If she insists to direct a movie, she can start making a short film.
All of these are in my opinion of course.

What about people who go to film school to become directors? Then they graduate and they're 21 or 22, are they supposed to wait until they're 40 to direct a film? No of course not. No reason why a seasoned industry veteran can't move over a few chairs and direct. She may or may not be good at it, but the only way to find out is to go and do it.

I think Ellen directing a film is a good career choice to make. She already wanted to make a show before, so wanting to direct a film isn't surprising to me. It doesn't mean she'll stop acting; it just means she's trying out something different, and she'll probably revisit directing more in the future.

I think that the things should be done for levels, Ellen Page is an actress that have 15 years of experience on her shoulders. Now, she have the right experience for direct a movie, if she will be able to do a great work, she can start a new carrier concurrently with the acting carrier. But if the results will not be good, she can continue her great career as an actress.
Credo che tutto sommato, il Paradiso possa attendere.
