Seeing this thread reminded me I own at least 3 movies by her on DVD that I haven't even watched. Guess I'm turning into one of those weird guys who buys action figures and never opens them :lol2:.

Why not?

I'll just say beforehand that the ratings kind of disregard her performance, it that makes sense. Every film I've seen her in she's nailed what's on the paper.

Mouth to Mouth 4/10
X-Men: TLS 5/10
The Tracey Fragments 7/10
Whip It 7/10
Peacock 7/10
Smart People 7/10
Inception 8/10
Hard Candy 9/10
An American Crime 10/10
Juno 10/10
Super 10/10

And you call yourself a real fan? Shame on you! :p
Well, I admit, I still have 3 films on my amazon wish list which I didn't buy yet. (Going for Broke, Marion Bridge, Wilby Wonderful)

Ok, back to the topic. My list, favorites first in terms of how much I like the movie:

- Inception
- Juno
- Whip It
- SUPER - best performance so far
- The Tracy Fragments
- Hard Candy - 2nd best performance
- Smart People - unfortunately spoiled by Sarah J. Parker
- Mouth to Mouth
- An American Crime

And in no particular order:
- I Downloaded a Ghost
- Peacock
- The Stone Angel
- Touch and Go
- ReGenesis
- Vanishing of the Bees
Beware! Reading jeopardizes stupidity!

The only film I have not seen yet is Love That Boy and I will buy it someday. Thanks to Dom, I have already watched Ellen's scenes so I'm in no big hurry to fork over the cash.

:p Well yeah I just can't get through Touch & Go. I like Ellen's character but the movie itself is a bit dreadful. The editing makes it looks like a comedy, some of the acting is grade school level (the main character's best friend or something, I couldn't stop laughing at his overacting), and it was poorly written, usually resorting to flat out stating what they were trying to get across instead of communicating it through intelligent dialogue a la Hard Candy. I swear the main character sounds like he's giving a college lecture to his friend when explaining why traveling by bus is better than flying. Still glad I own it since it's a pretty rare piece of Ellen memorabilia. The ones I own that I haven't watched at all are Pit Pony and Love That Boy.

My latest Ellen Top Five

1. Juno
2. SUPER (this movie gets better the more I see it)
3. Inception
4. Whip It (underrated...deserves more props)
5. The Tracey Fragments

I still have to see some of her early films (though I have seen Pit Pony)...but just about all of her films of recent years
