As tweeted by Dom, I guess he just forgot to put it up in here. Above is the new commercial featuring Ellen and Steve Agee.
In the country dead bodies live in swamps and ditches and shallow graves. A man dumps the body of a girl in a ditch. The body rotts melts into slime. Flowers pop up where the body lies, seeds fly out of the flowers and a bee sucks the flowers and makes honey. Then the family of the girl buys the honey from the store. And the family eats the girl.

I like the commercial, although I probably don't have $599 to shell out to buy the product.

'Tis truly the way of the future though. Remarkable piece of tech.

YES go Steve! Why is it any time Steve is on screen with Ellen everything is automatically ten times as awesome? They seriously need a TV show where they're roommates or something.

Really neat tech, as of now I have a cord to hook my computer up to my TV and I can just use video chat on that, but this is much higher end, a lot more reliable and at a much higher resolution. Really neat stuff.

Also sort of random question, is it strange that my grandma saw a picture of Ellen I had and then said she was in some TV show and loved her in it, but after going through all the shows she's been in none rang a bell for her... then she randomly remembered it was the Cisco commercials she'd been in? I'd think between two megahits, Juno and Inception, and about 15-20 other small things everyone would recognize her from a movie not a Cisco commercial  .

I saw the commercial with Ellen and Steve Agee on TV for the first time today. My friend next me didn't recognize Ellen at first, so I gave him a quick lecture about how great she is. :D

I just made a connection today between Ellen promoting Cisco video conferencing and her environmental activism. More video conferencing - especially in business - lessens the need to physically travel to meetings. Which means less fossil fuel is used on planes, trains and automobiles.

Airlines Are Losing Altitude:

Of course, the airlines live and breathe through their business travelers -- these customers use air services more frequently, and at a higher average cost per trip. While a stronger economy should increase overall load factors, the airlines also face a huge threat from a growing catalogue of high-tech alternatives, such as the video conferencing featured in Cisco's (CSCO_) wide-eyed Ellen Page ads.

Great find Jim! Not only Ellen is trying to clean up the environment....fewer people will have to go thru the TSA "Gate Rape" security procedures

Spoons eh? That's quite possibly the most random thing I've ever seen. Those guys at Cisco know how to advertise to me. Their commercials are so random it's hard to forget them, and they have Ellen in them :p!

I bet the fact that they're filmed in Nova Scotia, and therefore bring work to her native province is additional altruistic motivation for doing the commercials as well.

They also seem to be populated with people Ellen knows too. I'm still trying to figure out who the little people were in the 'Tea Party' ad. Any ideas?

I read the kids in the video are related to Ellen's manager Kelly Bush. But that's all I can say on that.

I was checking out the EPO Press Archive and found this article analyzing why Cisco chose Ellen:
http://christopherstemborowski.com/busi ... tnerships/

A very interesting response to this article was posted in the comment section by an actual Cisco marketing executive:
Ken Wirt wrote:Ellen has been a great spokesperson for Cisco Telepresence as she represents the type of “every-person” who can benefit from it’s use. First we showed her using the business product in B2C situations in spots that ran last year (doctor’s office, classrooms, etc). This year we’re showing her using our new Cisco Umi consumer product –with her real-life friends in commercials that were shot unscripted. In this way the main benefit of the product — authentic communication with people you care about, is communicated. Ellen works for us because of her down-to-earth personality and authenticity — she’s not a “stuck-up” type of movie star, but a “girl next store” personality that people recognize, care about, and respect. Ken Wirt — VP Consumer Marketing, Cisco
Makes sense to me.

That's great observation Glee Plane and kind of summarizes some of the reasons we're Ellen Page fans :yellowhappy:

Yeah, the commercials are great, they have a very natural humor. But I always wonder how long Ellen will stick to it.

Since Cisco is one of the big corporations too, they probably manufacture their products in China, Malaysia, Indonesia or wherever.
And according to some of Ellens Facebook entries she doesn't really support this type of business.

So I'm afraid there will be not many new Cisco commercials with Ellen in the future. :(
I hope I'm wrong.

Another great commercial, Cisco are on fire! And it works too, I had never heard of all this stuff before Ellen was in the adverts.
