THE TRACEY FRAGMENTS (HBO Canada, 8 p.m.) This is the small film Ellen Page made just before the big film Juno that made her a really big star. Director Bruce McDonald uses multiple split screens to capture the seriously scattered thoughts of one very stressed-out 15-year-old in an adaptation of novelist Maureen Medved's hyperbolic soliloquy of teenage angst. Page makes us sympathetic to the eponymous Tracey, but even her gamine resourcefulness can't quite pull all the fragments together.

For all the people in Asia, Star Movies will show Juno on Monday (16 Feb) 9:00 pm for those in Hong Kong, and the Philippines, and 10:00 pm for those in Malaysia.

Ellen is going to attend this years Spirit Awards and is one of the presenters this Saturday (on her birthday, by the way). The 2009 Film Independent's Spirit Awards ceremony, hosted by award winning actor/comedian Steve Coogan, will air uncut, uncensored, and commercial free on IFC. Can someone record it, please?

damn! i wish i didn't have work i would have watched the red carpet like I did last year! oh well, i still recorded the award show. too bad i'm leaving for sf soon and won't have time till tmrw to watch it >_<
