@UCFRdWarrior: Is the Swedish DVD English audio with Swedish subtitles or is it localized like it's done in Germany?

I recommend to check the fan corner to get an answer to this question. The primary purpose of this section of EPO is to provide this kind of information. :rolleye:

Well, I didn't know that EPO has such a section. I'm sorry, Dominik. :)

Finally, I saw it on saturday :)

It was weird because this was the 5th or 6th time I saw the movie. But the first time in german and the first time on the big screen.
The german dubbing isn't as bad as expected. Actually, it's pretty good. At least they didn't blow any jokes. The translation of 'Headshop' into 'Kifferladen' is a bit clumsy, because in germany those shops are called 'Headshop' as well.

Sadly, there were only 9 people in the theater (including me).

Hope more go see Roller Girl (Whip It) in Germany

Wonder how they handled some of the Southern USA colloquialisms (geographically-unique phrases)) like "that dog don't hunt"...and "The Squealer"

Hi, nice to meet you!
As you can see, I'm new at the forum so....
Please excuse my bad english! (pembe)
-> I'm still practicing :p

But now back to work:

@plexus
You say there were only 8 other people at Roller Girl with you?
Sounds funny to me, because that was exactly the number of persons during my session. Ôo
It could be just a stupid accident but....
Were you by chance at the UCI near Leipzig?

Yep! I was. It's a small world, isn't it? :yellowhappy:

OT: If you were one of the four guys right in front of me, pass a thanks to your friend who went out to tell the demonstrator that the projector was misaligned.
(To clarify this for the other readers: halfway through the movie, after switching to another reel, a black line cut through the screen and the bottom half of the image was seen at the top of the screen ... morons!)

Oh, by the way: @OuhPii, we encourage new members to introduce themselves to this forum -> http://board.ellen-page.net/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2

Ha, I knew it!

As my folks and I entered the room, we saw this one guy in the middle of the lodge
and my first thought was: "Who the hell....?! We are half an hour too soon and this guy is already here waiting for the big show. There is no doubt. -> It must be one of my kind :totalhappy:"

You must know that it was not easy to get these 3 nagging divas into the cinema.
Always the same bullsh**:
"Why should I watch this movie?"
"That's sunday afternoon entertainment."
"If you like Ellen Page so much, then move to Canada and marry her!"

After hours of arguing, I got my will and we were on our way. FINALLY!!!
And after all, it gave me some kind of confirmation to see someone like me at the same place. :')

P.S.:
You don't have to thank me! :merry:
I was simply not in the mood to watch the rest of the movie via split screen. ;)

This film was definitely a good choice for this evening.
(I had to choose between Roller Girl and a disco party + crappy music) :yuck:

And I was surprised about the fact how good this movie is.
-> I expected somehow one of these predictable girly movies…
…and yes, it’s WH*RE predictable
but also pretty funny, has a bunch of lovely characters and a catchy soundtrack.
Last but not least, Ms. P’s role as Bliss was convincing and charming as usual.

Can’t hardly wait until the blu-ray release in Germany
