I saw it for the first time last December. Now mind you I hadn't had the time to read the book, so I went into it, and absorbed the whole film. To say the most, Ellen Burnstyn was wonderful to watch as Hagar. Even though she's quite the contrary character at times, it was fun to watch. I personally wished Ellen would have had more of a role than being the reckless girl-friend to Hagar's son John. So even though it was wonderful to watch Ellen and Ms. Burnstyn, part of me felt unsatisfied.

The Stone Angel was filmed in Aug-Sept 2006 before Juno which was filmed in Feb-Mar 2007.
